Marshall County Historical Society holds annual meeting

Marshall County Historical Society’s 2015 Annual meeting was held October 22nd at the Viking Diner. Numerous reports were read highlighting another successful year for the historical society. Over the past year about 4,000 people visited the museum coming from 14 different states and two countries. There were 36 individuals who donated 315 artifacts, bringing the total number of artifacts in the museum to about 14,000. Also to be noted, it was an excellent year financially.
77 volunteers performed various tasks around the museum, donating a total of 1180 hours of labor. The society held three special events this past summer and co-sponsored another. Numerous people made contact searching for historical and genealogical information.
Needs for upcoming year are: Air quality control in the Visitor Center (there are some humidity issues), structural repairs and painting for the historic Alma Church and general maintenance to buildings.
