Market Day is just around the corner and August 10thwill be a great day to be in Oklee!

There will be a lot going on that day, starting at the Veterans Memorial site with the Hero Hustle 5K registration opening at 7:45 a.m., the actual 5K will start at 8:30 a.m. Come dressed as your favorite superhero and be a hero for the day.  
At 8:00 a.m. the Key Hunt will start, find a hidden key around town to try to win a prize. There is no age limit, so everyone is welcome to participate, there is a 1 key per person limit.  Prizes will be awarded at 3:00 p.m. so bring your key to the downtown area to claim your prize.
Vendors and crafters will open at 9 a.m. in the school, there will be goodies and homemade items for sale. There is always room for more vendors of all types, crafters, produce and flea marketers of any kind please call Jena at 218–791–9233 with any questions or if you’d like to set up a stand.
The quilt show will also open at 9 a.m. in the hall. Come and check out all the gorgeous handmade quilts.  If you would like to enter a quilt, please contact Oklee Quilting by August 8th for more information. 
Cars showing registration opens at 9 a.m. with the show starting at 10 a.m. the motto for the car show is “if you’re proud of it, show it off!” A car show is always a great place for people to visit and hang out! for questions on the car show please call Linda at 218–689–5038.
The Oklee Lutheran Youth Group will be set up by the school from 10 -1 with carnival games. 
Once again, the sidewalk chalk contest will take place along main street starting at 10 a.m.  Bring some chalk and color the town. Entries need to be completed by 1:00 p.m. for judging and winners will be announced at 3:00 p.m. in the downtown area. 
We have a few new events this year, starting at 10:30 a.m. registration for the Cornhole tournament will open and the tournament will start at 11:00 a.m. this event will be held between Oklee Café and TJ’s Tavern.  The other new event will be a Pickleball Tournament starting at 11:00 a.m. for more information or to sign your team up please contact Dave at 701-261-7605. 
As lunch time approaches there will be several options available for you to choose from, Oklee Cafe, Cenex, and TJs Tavern will be open. Zion Lutheran Church will be serving burgers in the fire hall and the American Legion will be serving brats and hotdogs by the school.
The old fashion street games will start at 1:30 p.m. on main street.  The street games are open to all ages so come enjoy the old-fashioned fun!  At 3:00 p.m. the sand pile dig will take place for kids along with the announcing of the winners of the various things that have taken place throughout the day.
TJ’s Tavern will have acoustic entertainment starting at 3:30 p.m. and later in the evening Odd Man In will be preforming stating at 9:00 p.m. so make sure you stop into TJ’s to hear some great local musicians showcase their talents.   
The 2nd Annual Oklee Lumber alumni softball game will take place at 4:00 p.m. at the at the softball fields on the southeast side of town. Come out and watch what is sure to be another entertaining game 
There will be a raffle drawing at 3:00 p.m. on Market Day, tickets are $5.00 and available at local businesses and will be available on Market Day.
