Holiday Showcase in Review

Clear Waters Life Center – Gonvick hosted its second annual Holiday Showcase on a beautiful winter evening, Friday, December 21, featuring “Home for the Holidays”.  Nearly 200 guests were served a three-course sit-down dinner of green salad and French bread, prime rib, rice-vegetable medley with Tuscan cheese sauce, and tiramisu for dessert.
An amazing volunteer cast and singers of twelve performed “Home for the Holidays”, a two act play set in World War II that tells the story of a wife hoping her husband can make it home for Christmas Eve; a father who regains his lost faith and hope, and a young pilot who doesn’t believe until his friend sacrifices Christmas Eve with his young family to fly one last mission. In addition, seven dedicated crew members handled directing, lights, and sound.
Volunteers are the heart and soul of Clear Waters Life Center, and this event relied on nearly 40.  Literally hundreds of hours went into the planning, practicing, decorating, cooking, hosting, and cleaning. Our volunteers come from all walks of life and represented many area communities and churches.
Thank you to Clearwater-Polk Electric Operation Roundup and Thrivent Financial which helped cover the performance staging and sound equipment costs, as well as a generous individual donation of projection/performance equipment. Being able to hold events that promote life, activity, and community engagement in our rural area is an important part of who we are at Clear Waters Life Center!
