Last Friday night was the Boys Basketball 8A East Opening Round Playoff, which Goodridge hosted last Friday night against Lake of the Woods. It was a great win at 63-37, which advances the Chargers to the Sub-Section Quarter Finals this Thursday, March 5th, at Cass Lake at 7pm.
Stats from Friday,
February 28th
Chargers 63, LOW 37
Stats: Hudson McMillin (18 pts, 13 reb), Jake Olson (1 pt, 4 reb), Riley Manderud (8 pts, 3 reb, 3 asst), Jordan Coan (7 pts, 4 reb), Andrew Loken (2 pts, 3 reb), Nolan Anderson (4 pts, 4 reb), Moses Jensen (4 pts), Lewis Jones (6 pts, 2 asst, 4 steals), Tucker Verbout (2 pts, 2 reb), Ian Haugen (9 pts, 5 reb), Matt Busse (2 pts)
Varsity Head Coach Andrew Sundberg commented, “We got off to a quick start against the Bears, taking a 10-0 lead. For the rest of the first half, we shot very poorly and couldn’t score consistently against the Bears sagging defense. Our defense was very good though, and we had a 24-12 halftime lead. In the second half, we started shooting better and got some easier opportunities by getting offensive rebounds. Hudson had a great game- he had 9 offensive rebounds. I really liked the energy our bench brought in the second half, as well. Specifically Lewis, Moses and Nolan created some turnovers and transition chances. We get to move on to take on #1 seeded Cass Lake-Bena next Thursday. We know we’ll have to be at our best to compete with the Panthers.
