Bagley Murder suspect
On September 21, 2025 at approximately 12:48 a.m., the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office dispatch center received a call of a male party not breathing at a residence in the City of Bagley. A Bagley Police Officer responded as well as a deputy from the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office. When they arrived, life saving measures were started and the victim, 26-year-old Tray Lee McCollum, was transported to the Sanford Bagley Medical Center by the Bagley Sanford Ambulance. At approximately 1:35 a.m., McCollum was pronounced deceased.
Medical staff alerted law enforcement that there were signs of trauma on McCollum’s head, consistent with an assault or extreme force. It was further discovered that McCollum and another individual had been assaulted in Falk Township and then driven to the residence in the City of Bagley.
The suspect in the assault, 24-year-old Chistyan Matthew Logan, was identified and arrested in the City of Fosston. He was booked into the Clearwater County Jail on charges of 2nd degree murder. He is expected to be arraigned later today, September 22nd. An autopsy is scheduled for McCollum at the University of North Dakota Forensic Pathology Center in Grand Forks today as well.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (MN BCA) crime scene team was called in to assist in the investigation. No further details will be released at this time.
