Harvesting has been going full swing the past week or so. Rain is in the forecast, maybe not much. At least we don't have to deal with hurricanes like down south. Hurricane Laura had hit Wednesday. They were concerned about shelters because of all the people and social distancing. It sounded like the winds and rain would travel inland many miles covering many states.
After a week of cooler weather then humid for a couple of days, a weather system went through on Sunday evening and gave us a good share of rain. The flowers and gardens drank it up quickly. Blooms once again will be profuse for a while.
September 9:
Everyone knows that it is an election year as we have been hearing many commercials for both political parties for President.
The Blast is going to happen this Saturday, September 12th. There are lots of activities to enjoy and the weather sounds like it will be a nice day for a celebration!
Whew the weather just turned on us. It is fifty degrees this morning. What a shock to the system. I guess after the first of September we should expect cooler temperatures and Fall weather but this was a shock. This last week we were hit with a short storm. It blew hard all day but it really ramped up about 10:30 and with a spit of rain and high wind it went through here in about ten minutes. The next morning there was a yard full of branches and pieces of branches all over.
September 16:

There was a frost on Wednesday and the corn showed right away that is froze enough to kill growth, it turned yellow within the next day. The rest of the week though it was cool, was nice.
