Services for Nancy Rae Hubbard (Smeby),

Nancy Rae Hubbard (Smeby), 60, of Grygla, Minnesota, passed away April 11, 2018 after an extended battle with cancer.  A memorial service will be held on June 23, 2018 at 5:00 PM at Waite Park Wesleyan Church in Minneapolis.
Nancy was born in Thief River Falls, MN on November 29, 1957. She graduated from Grygla High School and continued on to receive her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in International Leadership from Crown College.
Nancy was married to Perry Hubbard on December 15, 1979; they were married 38 years.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and was especially proud of her children and grandchildren.
Nancy served Global Partners as a missionary for 31 years. She and Perry served side by side in the countries of Sierra Leone, Papua New Guinea, Guyana, and Panama.  Nancy was actively involved in countless areas of ministry and passionately served children in need. She was largely responsible for founding the Ruimveldt Children’s Home and Care Center for children infected/affected by HIV/AIDS in 2006. She was a key instructor and developer of the cross-cultural training program for the JIBACAM missions board of the Wesleyan Churches of Latin America. She was known by many around the world and loved by all that knew her.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Perry; children, John (Valerie), Jeffrey (Heather), and Jessica; grandchildren, Donovan and Tobias; mother, Doris; three brothers, Jim (Eileen), Lowell (Rochelle), and Paul (Marie); two sisters, Pam (Tim) and JoAnn (John), and a large extended family.
Nancy is preceded in death by her father, John Smeby, and sister-in-law Patti.
The family of Nancy wishes to thank all who have offered their support and prayers over the years and in the days to come.
