Frank Wynkoop, 78, of Bemidji, MN died Thursday, September 9, 2021 peacefully at his daughter’s home surrounded by his family.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, September 17, 2021 at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bagley, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Bagley City Cemetery in Bagley, MN. Military honors will be by the Bagley VFW.
He was born May 20, 1943 in Bagley, MN the eldest son of 6 to Frank and Geneva Wynkoop.
He was raised and educated in Bagley, graduating in 1961. He joined the US Army and served in Vietnam. He married Carole Tanem and had four children; they later divorced. He worked various construction jobs throughout his life along with playing music with his brothers in the Wynkoop Brothers Band. In the last 4 years he played music with his daughter, brother and niece in the Wynkoop Family Band. Playing music brought him tremendous joy in his life and played music at every chance he could get.
He is survived by his 4 children, Tammy (Kent) Whiting, Shannon (Tim) Miller, Wade Wynkoop,
and Jackie (Tony) Kerr, 7 grandchildren, Tiara (Andrew) Bratlien, Aaron Miller, Marc Whiting, Kenyon Miller, Jenna Miller, Trinity Kerr and Orin Kerr, 8 great grandchildren, Elliot Miller, Caroline Miller, Elias Bratlien, Ada Bratlien, Keaton Miller, Lauren Whiting, Ava Reid, and Jaack Miller, brothers, Allen (Pam) Wynkoop, Steve (Sherry) Wynkoop, Gary Wynkoop, and Bob Wynkoop.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother David Wynkoop.
