Win-E-Mac 4th and 5th graders "wax" museum
The 4th and 5th grade classrooms have been working on biographies during the months of April and May. They had a living “wax” museum on May 8th from 1-2:30 pm in the Win-E-Mac gymnasium. This is how it worked. Each student needed to pick a famous person in American History that they would like to research and report about. They were asked to write a biography of that person during writing class in school. Once they had completed the biographies they wrote their biography as a speech. During the wax museum, each student dressed up as their person. They were standing by a cup. When visitors to the museum put a coin in the cup, they “come alive” as the person they are representing, and told the interesting facts about their lives and accomplishments. All the money made was to be donated to the Polk County Humane Society in Crookston. The classes made $296.18. Thank you for all your support! Mr. Svalen and Mr. Hanson.
